A belt is a loop of flexible material used to link two or more rotating shafts mechanically. Belts may be used as a source of motion, to transmit power efficiently, or to track relative movement. There are many types of belt , here let’s talk about Driving Belt.

Then what is a driving belt? A driving belt often called a serpentine belt, is a hard band of rubber that that is looped around several pulleys and the engine of of a vehicle, which turns the belt system as it runs. The power generated by the drive belt is used to run the vehicle's peripheral systems, such as the engine cooling system, windshield wipers, power steering and battery charging. In older vehicles, these systems were sometimes driven by more than one belt acting in concert, but most newer cars favor a single serpentine belt, since it is more energy efficient.
