The double disc swing check valve is an improved version of the single disc swing check valve. Or it can be explained that the single disc is split in two. By splitting the disc in two, the mass of the single disc is greatly reduced. Subsequently, the travel distance from open to shut off position has been greatly reduced. As a result, the efficiency can be improved to some extent.
