Gasket is a mechanical seal between two objects, usually to prevent leaks under pressure between two objects. The surface can not be perfect due to mechanical processing, the use of gaskets to fill irregularities. Usually sheet gasket material, such as the pad of paper, rubber, silicone rubber, metal, cork, felt, neoprene, nitrile rubber, fiberglass or plastic polymers (eg PTFE).
