The first question everyone asks about a crystal chandelier is that "What is the difference in between the crystals?" And we take joy in explaining and educating you about the crystal grades throughout the years.
Let's have a look at what's available first and what is the source of each crystal grade and what makes the difference in quality.
The first and foremost important ingredient is the lead oxide. Lead oxide is the main ingredient that gives the crystal its sparkle, its shimmer and beautiful diamond like brilliance. There are several different types of crystal options available in the market today that we use on our chandeliers. First is the hand-cut crystal; this type of crystal is basically cut by hand and polished on a wood wheel wood polished crystal. Then we have the full lead crystal; this type of crystal is the highest grade crystal with 30% or more lead oxide within in it. Swarovski Strass crystals are also full lead crystals with about 32% lead oxide.
A crystal chandelier is usually made of a metal skeleton with gold or chrome polished finishes. Of course other types of finish options are available like French Gold, Silver, or bronze finish, these are not as costly as the gold plated ones but offer a more antique finish look for the chandeliers.
